Marcello Lippi will reportedly be the top candidate to coach Milan should Xi Jinping’s Chinese consortium complete a deal for the club.

Rossoneri President Silvio Berlusconi is currently negotiating a sale of the San Siro giants with a group of Chinese investors headed by Jinping and they are believed to be keen on moving for Lippi.

Tuttosport believes that if the consortium’s bid for the club was successful, the new owners would turn to the Coach who recently spent two seasons in charge of Chinese club Guangzhou Evergrande.

Lippi was CT of the victorious Azzurri 2006 World Cup team, but has never coached Milan during his illustrious 33-year coaching career.

However, reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport say that Carlo Ancelotti and Antonio Conte remain the Diavolo’s top targets.

Should they be unachievable, the paper believes that Fiorentina’s Vincenzo Montella and Unai Emery of Sevilla are the more plausible candidates for the post.

Pippo Inzaghi watched his side fall to a 3-2 defeat to Sassuolo on Sunday and the young Coach is widely expected to lose his job at the end of the season.
