Italy are in lockdown because of the rapid spread of the virus and Serie A has been suspended. Now, the Chilean government has decided to put the arriving players in quarantine as a precaution.

“We do not make any distinction about the profession of people, because nobody is immune to this virus,” the Minister of Health Jamie Manalich said, according to the local newspaper Emol. “Indeed, the quarantine determined today for Italy applies to everyone.

“Of course, if these players want to work out on a machine in their homes, or all be quarantined together at Juan Pinto Duran (the national stadium), then that’s their call.”
