Chelsea are undeterred by being rejected for Alessio Romangoli, with reports they’ll make a new offer to Milan.

It was claimed yesterday that the Blues had made an official offer for the Italian Under-21 international, but it was rejected out of hand by the Rossoneri.

However, Gazzetta dello Sport is now reporting that the Premier League club were simply making an exploratory offer and, undeterred, and will submit a new bid to test Milan’s resolve.

However, Gazzetta dello Sport is now reporting that the Premier League club were simply making an exploratory offer and, undeterred, and will submit a new bid to test Milan’s resolve.

The newspaper claims that Chelsea have a budget of €100m [£86m] available for a defender and a midfielder, and they had bid €50m for Kalidou Koulibaly of Napoli.

While that door seems to have closed, manager Antonio Conte appears determined to recruit a new centre-back from Serie A, so focus has switched to Romagnoli.
