Now that Chelsea have agreed a deal for Carney Chukwuemeka, they’re reportedly focusing their efforts on picking up Inter talent Cesare Casadei.

The 19-year-old Italian is one of the brightest stars in the Nerazzurri youth system and he seems to be ready for the next stage of his career now, looking a talented and promising midfielder. Sassuolo have had their eye on Casadei for a little while now, but their suggested offers haven’t proved convincing.

As reported by the Evening Standard, Chelsea are working on revitalising their midfield and now that they’ve agreed a deal with Aston Villa for Chukwuemeka, they want to follow that up with Inter’s Casadei.

The Nerazzurri are looking for around €20m and Chelsea seem willing to reach that. They’ve been scouting the 19-year-old for a while now and believe he’s the perfect option.

Casadei has scored 24 goals and provided seven assists in 65 appearances for Inter’s Primavera squad.

  1. Is this a serious change of strategy by Chelsea or are they just continuing to sweep up young talents so no one else can have them?

  2. @DB – chelsea been doing this for last 15 yrs – its not new, they make more profit than any other club in the world – on just selling the youth academies players

They do indeed but these aren’t players from the Chelsea academy. The guy at Villa was going to get minutes for Villa but now he will end up going on various l.oans over the next 4 years. Maybe he has a great season and gets a move or maybe he never settles and his career goes on a downward spiral. Just doesn’t make sense to me from the players point of view, unless its a short-term financial decision.
