Champions League: Inter vs. Milan line-ups

Rafael Leao is back in the starting XI for Milan supporting Olivier Giroud, while Inter stick with the same line-up from the first leg with Lautaro Martinez and Edin Dzeko in the Champions League semi-final.

It kicks off at San Siro at 20.00 UK time (19.00 GMT).

This is the fifth time this season the sides have met in all competition, Milan winning 3-2 in September followed by three consecutive defeats.

The first leg ended 2-0 with Dzeko and Henrikh Mkhitaryan scoring in the opening 11 minutes, so as the away goals rule has been scrapped, any Milan win by a two-goal margin would force extra time.

Rafael Leao’s muscular injury was a huge blow for the Rossoneri, but he is back in the starting XI today with Giroud, Brahim Diaz and Junior Messias.

There is a change in defence, where Malick Thiaw comes in for Simon Kjaer.

Injuries rule out Ismael Bennacer, Rade Krunic, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Alessandro Florenzi, with confidence low after Saturday’s 2-0 Serie A defeat to Spezia.

Inter stick to the same XI that won the first leg, with Dzeko preferred to Romelu Lukaku as the partner for Lautaro Martinez.

Hakan Calhanoglu and Mkhitaryan complete the midfield with Nicolò Barella, Matteo Darmian gets the nod rather than Stefan de Vrij in the absence of injured Milan Skriniar.

The Nerazzurri are hitting their peak form at the right time with seven consecutive victories in all competition.

They have also kept six clean sheets in their 11 Champions League ties this season, but Milan aren’t too far behind with five.
