Alessio Cerci says his goal was always to move to Milan once he became aware of the Rossoneri’s interest.

Reports had suggested that Cerci was leaning more toward a move to city rivals Inter, but the former Torino winger has played down those reports.

“When I first heard about this, I was in the Maldives,” Cerci recalled in a Press conference to officially present him to fans and media.

“I only had a little time to think about it, then my choice was Milan. My goal was to come here, and that’s how it went.

“It was exciting, the President [Silvio Berlusconi] said really nice things about me, I want to thank him.

“It’s an honour for me, I feel great pride at being here. [Coach Filippo] Inzaghi really wanted me, that’s important. Everything is in place for me to do well.

“I’m at full strength, I feel like a better player after what happened at Atletico. I feel good, I was always training in Madrid, even if I’m missing match sharpness.

“I have to do what I know I can, the things for which I was brought here. Everyone knows I prefer to play on the right, so the way the team plays is perfect for me.

“The important thing is to get back to full fitness, then things will come naturally.”
