Edinson Cavani is increasingly likely to leave PSG and return to Italy, with Napoli and Juventus the favourites.

The Uruguay international impressed at the World Cup and was sorely missed due to injury when they lost to France.

According to Catalan paper Sport, Neymar has asked Paris Saint-Germain to get rid of Cavani and make an offer for his old Barcelona teammate Luis Suarez.

It is absolutely no secret that Cavani and Neymar do not get along, both on and off the field, so it’s hardly a surprise their biggest buy would make such a request.

If the ‘Matador’ does leave Paris, a return to Serie A is the most likely option, as he already played there for Palermo and then Napoli.

Cavani’s father told Uruguayan media this week that “Napoli is the only club where Edi felt truly happy.”

Juve are also interested should Gonzalo Higuain move on, but Napoli remain the favourites for a remarkable comeback.

The 31-year-old left the Stadio San Paolo for Paris in 2013 at a cost of €64.5m.
