Catania have confirmed that they are discussing the possible sale of Maxi Lopez to Premiership side Fulham.

The Sicilian club are ready to sell the Argentine this month and that is still the plan – even after Milan pulled out of a previous agreement to net him.

The collapse of the Rossoneri’s move for Carlos Tevez has re-ignited links with Lopez today, but the outfit say they will continue negotiations with the English club.

“Lopez to Milan? We’ll see what happens over the next few days,” Catania director Pietro Lo Monaco told Radio Kiss Kiss.

“We are carrying on discussions with Fulham.

“The player has been waiting because he liked the Milan talk, but we couldn’t wait for too much longer.

“We’ve been in contact with Fulham for a couple of weeks now. The player has stalled things a bit, but let’s see what comes of it.”

Lopez, 27, has scored three goals in 14 Serie A games this term. He joined Catania in January 2010 after a stint in Brazil with Gremio.

In 66 top-flight games for the Italian club, he has netted 21 times.
