Coach Beppe Iachini later revealed the player “didn’t know where he was” and doctors took him to a local hospital for tests.

He was kept in overnight for observation and is expected to go home today.

“Guys, thank you for the many messages you’ve been sending me over the last few hours,” wrote Castrovilli on Instagram.

“It was just a huge scare, but I’ll be back on the pitch soon. Thank you to the medical staff for their support.”

According to a statement released by Fiorentina, Castrovilli had received a knock to the head, but it hadn’t been noticed at the time.
