Tommaso Ghirardi has asked how he can keep Antonio Cassano and Roberto Donadoni at Parma in light of their omission from Europe for next year.

The Ducali had earned passage into the qualification stages of the Europa League for 2014-15, but failure to attain a UEFA License due to an unpaid tax bill has seen Torino take their place.

On from announcing his resignation as club President and intention to sell the club, Ghirardi has hinted that there could be a couple of high profile departures from the Ennio Tardini this summer.

“I have resigned and I hope that someone buys Parma,” the patron has explained on Radio Anch’Io Lo Sport today.

“Now we need to rebuild the team. I am happy for the expressions of esteem from fans and great people, but psychologically it will be difficult to move forward.

“How can Cassano stay in Emilia after conquering Europe on the field? Donadoni is also at risk.

“For Parma it is a great achievement to have nine players at the World Cup. Napoli have 13, but they have five times our budget.

“They [the FIGC] have deprived us of our dream.

“I am hurt by this situation, I have gone three days without sleep. In recent years I have always been pleased with the results.

“If we take away the results, I prefer to stay at home with my family and dedicate myself to something else.”
