Real Madrid and Inter both need to turn things around if they are going to qualify for the last 16 of the Champions League, as Los Blancos sit third and Inter bottom of Group B.

Casemiro said Real are aware of the danger and talked up the competition, as Borussia Mönchengladbach tops the standing on five points, one above Shakhtar Donetsk and Los Merengues.

“We know that we are in a difficult group,” Casemiro told UEFA.com. “Shakhtar have high quality Brazilian players.

“Borussia have done well in Germany and Inter are a great team, with a strong tradition and a coach who has clear ideas.”

Real Madrid’s 3-2 win over Inter last time was their first game in the Champions League this season.

“We knew it wasn’t going to be an easy match, but we were mentally strong and focused on winning.

“Then Rodrygo scored the decisive goal. The mental work and the concentration we maintained during the match were very important.

“We are aware that there’s still a long way to go, but that win was very important.”
