Potential Palermo buyer Frank Cascio has urged President Maurizio Zamparini to give him a response amid talks with a Chinese group.

Zamparini stated this week he was in “very advanced” negotiations with a Chinese conglomerate who would visit in October or November.

He also confirmed that a proposal had been received from an American group – represented by Cascio – so today we publish a statement from the US entrepreneur.

“I want to confirm that along with my group, with which I met President Zamparini, I presented a solid and concrete offer to purchase Palermo. The specific terms of the agreement are confidential,” wrote Cascio.

“Our offer is a concrete one, with solid foundations and during the meetings with President Zamparini we had the chance to illustrate our project for Palermo, a project that plans strategic investments both on a sporting level and in terms of infrastructure.

“We have very clear and precise ideas on how to relaunch the Palermo brand.

“We also made an offer based exclusively on the documentation that was sent to us by the current owners, without yet being able to perform the complete due diligence which is common in these cases.

“We made this decision to prove our good faith in aiming to reach an agreement and start working as soon as possible for the future of Palermo.

“We are still waiting for an official response from President Zamparini who, albeit confirming our offer via the media, has not yet given us any feedback.

“I have remained in Palermo until now because I believe in the real possibility of reaching an agreement soon, but I also expect a transparent line of communication with President Zamparini to understand if we are on the same wavelength or if he has decided to opt for other offers.

“Whatever the outcome, forza Palermo!”

Palermo have started the season in a similar vein to the last, as Coach Davide Ballardini resigned after just two games and Roberto De Zerbi is expected to take over tomorrow.
