President Zamparini has threatened for many years to sell the club and this summer appears to be taking it a step closer to reality.

Italian-American businessman Cascio arrived at the Punta Raisi airport this evening wearing a Palermo scarf round his neck and spoke to reporters including stadionews.

“Zamparini and his family are special people. We are in agreement and are going forward in the process.

“These are rapidly advancing talks, Zamparini knows where my heart is, so for both me and him it’s important to know the future of Palermo.

“He wants to know about my group and our project, so I think we are in agreement. We’re not talking about money. We are going forward and happy with the process, the important thing is that he knows where my heart is.”

Former Bologna President, now owner of Venezia, Joe Tacopina is helping the negotiation process.

In July Cascio told rotocalcio.org that his associate in this purchase is Paul Baccaglini.

Among other things, Cascio had Michael Jackson as “a mentor. He taught me nothing is impossible, to dream big and be careful what you wish for… because dreams do come true.”

Cascio explained he “invested in clean energy, the auto industry, pharmaceuticals and naturally also the entertainment business. We are working actively on various fronts.

“I am a man of passion, if I don’t have passion for what I do, then I prefer not to do it. Palermo is my passion and I am sure that we’ll be able to innovate Palermo.”
