Casadei returned to Chelsea in January 2024 after a six-month loan spell at Leicester City and had only combined 17 minutes across three appearances between January 31 and April 4.

Over the last month, Casadei has seen his playing time increase. Even though he hasn’t yet started with the Premier League giants, the Italian has played 52 minutes in the last six Premier League outings.

Italy CT Luciano Spalletti said in January that he and his staff had been monitoring Casadei for a while.

Casadei, 21, has one goal in nine appearances with Italy U21. He joined Chelsea from Inter in a €20m deal in 2022 and his contract at Stamford Bridge runs out in 2028.
