The Argentine is only a squad player with the Nerazzurri after he signed for the outfit from Lazio in January 2013.

“When I joined Inter my first priority was to get my career back on track,” the 29-year-old told InterNOS.

“To do that I think you need to be working with serious professionals and a serious club – and I didn't have that before coming here.

“My aim is to help the team, do well and perhaps in future become Inter's first-choice ‘keeper.

“However, at the moment, I have to accept that I have an immense ‘keeper ahead of me in the pecking order. And I'm happy being second choice.”

The shot-stopper is an Argentine international, but he has struggled for recognition since leaving River Plate in 2011.

“It was a great honour for me to play for Argentina and I'd like to be part of the national set-up again at some point,” he added.

“Going to the World Cup, however, is not a target for me at this stage of my career.”

Carrizo made an impact for Inter on Sunday as he saved a penalty in the 3-3 draw with Torino after Samir Handanovic was shown the red card.
