Ancelotti intimated at the start of the month that he was deterred from the Italy post by its lack of day-to-day responsibility, but Ancelotti has now hinted that he may consider managing the Azzurri towards the end of his career.

When asked about his future by Radio Rai, the Bayern Munich boss replied: “I don’t believe it’s in China, I feel good in Europe.

“Italy? Who knows, but there’s something I really like and it’s the daily work with the players.

“Working three times a month doesn’t appeal to me, although maybe it’ll interest me as I get older.

“Serie A? Right now I’ve been excluded from certain clubs due to a matter of history!”
