Fabio Cannavaro is looking for the right project in Europe and he recently turned down an offer from FC Zurich.

The 48-year-old Italian coach was most recently the head coach of Chinese side Guangzhou Evergrande, where he won the league title and the Super Cup. Prior to that, he spent time in charge of Tianjin Tianhai and Al-Nassr FC. He’s been working hard to gain experience and an understanding of top level coaching in recent years, keen to impress in Europe.

As reported by TuttoMercatoWeb, Cannavaro has recently been offered the head coaching role at FC Zurich, but he turned down the proposal as he’s waiting to hear from a club in one of Europe’s top leagues.

The 2006 World Cup winner has also been linked with Spanish side Espanyol and it’s likely that he’ll be seen as the head coach somewhere in Europe’s top five leagues by the start of next season.
