Paolo Cannavaro believes Sassuolo are Serie A’s equivalent of Leicester City.
The Foxes are top of the English Premier League under Claudio Ranieri, with just seven games to go until the end of the season.
While the Neroverdi aren’t quite scaling those heights, Eusebio Di Francesco’s side are seventh and have beaten Napoli and Juventus this season.

“Are Sassuolo like Leicester?” Cannavaro considered in an interview with Sky.
“There’s a comparison there and I like it. Maybe we didn’t quite believe in an important part of the season compared to them, though we’re still fighting for important positions, even if it’s not first place.
“They cover their technical deficiencies with a grit and mentality which is to be envied.”
Having beaten them earlier in the season, Sassuolo lost to Juventus in Turin and the defender gave his views on the Scudetto race.
“Against Juve we had some absences, but we always do well even when someone is missing.
“You could see it clearly, we didn’t give up, we showed our style of play, and played like the Coach [Eusebio Di Francesco] said.
“The Scudetto? Juventus have a stronger squad, but Napoli have something extra in terms of their style of play.”
