Sassuolo sporting director Giovanni Carnevali insists Juventus “haven’t asked” for Domenico Berardi.

The Bianconeri sold their half of the player’s registration to the Emilian side in the summer, but have a ‘gentleman’s agreement’ to buy him this summer.

However, the Neroverdi have warned that they could sell the talented forward elsewhere, and now it’s claimed that the Old Lady is dragging her heels.

“Berardi? I’ll emphasise that he’s a player wholly owned by us,” Carnevali told Sky.

“We know of the interest from Juventus. We have a great relationship with the Bianconeri and they’ll have to ask for him, but they haven’t asked yet.

“We have offers from others clubs and we’ll evaluate the right thing to do. Now that I’m saying he’ll be sold, we could start with him again.”

Carnevali was also asked about Coach Eusebio Di Francesco who has been linked with the Milan job.

“We’re talking with the boss, in the next few days we’ll meet to discuss the project for next year.

“I think that when faced with the lure of big teams it’s not easy for any team to keep hold of Coaches or players, but we have a serious project and I think it’s right for the Coach to reflect.

“I’m not saying that we’d give up our Coach easily. With our owner we have a clear and well-defined project, we’ll do our best.

“If he doesn’t remain with the club we’ll continue with his ideas.”
