Antonio Candreva saw a good first attempt with Italy’s 4-2-4 system and assured there’s “no problem” with new Inter boss Stefano Pioli.

“It was a positive performance. The Coach puts us in the position to give our best and we try to repay him for that,” Candreva told Rai Sport.

“It was a positive performance. The Coach puts us in the position to give our best and we try to repay him for that,” Candreva told Rai Sport.

This was the debut for the 4-2-4 shape, but can it be used against opponents other than Liechtenstein, for example Tuesday’s friendly with Germany?

“From tomorrow we’ll think about the friendly with Germany. We’ve only started testing this system on Monday, so we’ll see if we can use it against stronger opponents too.

“I compliment Davide Zappacosta, as he did very well on his debut. We’ve only been practising these movements in training for a few days, so it was a good first go.”

Inter have appointed Pioli as their new Coach, so has Candreva put their reported Lazio feud behind him?

“There’s absolutely no problem. So much has been said and written, but hopefully a new Inter season begins now, as we have high expectations. We draw a line under everything that has gone before.”
