The Quarter-Final went to extra time and was decided by a goal from substitute Patrick Cutrone.

“The elimination hurts, as we wanted to go through and it’s disappointing for the fans,” Candreva told Rai Sport.

“We had our chances to score and with a little bit of luck could’ve taken the lead.”

It’s the third consecutive defeat for Inter between Serie A and the Coppa, while they needed penalties to get past Serie C side Pordenone in the last round.

“We are missing a bit of good luck. The last two defeats were painful, as we got the second half wrong against Udinese and didn’t make the most of our chances at Sassuolo. We must focus on Lazio now, as that is a fundamental game for our season.

“Morale is low at the moment, as we wanted to go all the way in the Coppa. From tomorrow, we must get back on track and unite as a group.”
