Cameroon’s World Cup squad have refused to board their plane to Brazil following a dispute with their national association over bonuses.

The African nation are in Group A of the tournament and are due to face Mexico in their opening match on Friday.

However, reports have surfaced claiming the players chose to remain at their team hotel in the Cameroonian capital Yaoundé, as opposed to heading for the airport for their scheduled flight.

Squad members are said to be unhappy that the bonuses being offered to them are ‘too low.’ There are also claims that a player strike almost took place a fortnight ago regarding the same issue.
