Esteban Cambiasso has applauded the efforts of new boss Andrea Stramaccioni for reviving the club’s fortunes.

After a number of difficulties at the start of the campaign, the Nerazzurri are now joint third in the table and just four points adrift of leaders Juventus.

While Antonio Cassano has done the damage on the pitch, the Argentine thinks Stramaccioni deserves praise for his work on the touchline.

“The Coach's intelligence is in quickly understanding the problems and doing what's necessary to change them,” the veteran noted.

“He's given us something more,” he added. “And as players we have to understand that something more is needed.”

Inter beat Catania 2-0 on Sunday afternoon. “We are growing and this is important,” the former Real Madrid midfielder continued.

“It was confirmation for us after the derby, when there was talk of excessive enthusiasm. Then there was the international break, but we showed we have our feet on the ground.

“Are we the anti-Juve? When we put this shirt on we have an obligation to do our all and to be among the top of the standings.”
