The deal for the Argentinian striker is becoming increasingly tangled. After initial declarations by his agent that a move to the Nerazzurri was forthcoming, sporting director Piero Ausilio claimed there was no deal and the player himself stated a move was difficult.
The signing of Calleri could also be instrumental in the possible departure of striker Mauro Icardi to Atletico Madrid.
But in an interview with Fox Sports Radio, the player still sounded indecisive.
“It's not just my decision,” he said. “I have many opportunities to move away, but I still haven't signed any deal with any club.
“We'll see next week whether anything becomes more concrete.”
