New Napoli signing Emanuele Calaio has admitted that playing in the Champions League was the main reason for his return.
The 31-year-old striker has rejoined the Partenopei from Siena and has conceded that playing in Europe was the deciding factor in his move.
“At 31, you are not going to get this sort of opportunity again,” he told a Press conference. “I am an ambitious player and want to play in the Champions League.
“Compared to when I arrived the first time [in 2004] I find a team better organized.
“In recent years, we have been able to aim for targets not previously reached.
“My new teammates are strong and talented, but also want to improve. I will give my best to try and help them.”
