Torino President Urbano Cairo says ‘it’s important that the Serie A continues’ and insists players should live a ‘monastic life.’

“There is a minimum of concern about the increase of cases,” the Granata President said after today’s Serie A meeting.

“The road to follow is the one of the recent weeks. The UEFA Protocol and the Italian rules that provide the possibility of requesting the postponement of the match with ten confirmed cases.

“It’s important that the Serie A goes ahead, because it’s fun for people at home and because it’s an industry that mobilizes so many people. If you follow the rules and the protocols, I don’t think there’s a problem.”

Cairo doesn’t rule out the possibility of creating a bubble like it happened in the NBA, should the Covid-19 situation in Italy gets worse.

“No one would want it, but we will see if it will be necessary if the situation gets worse.

“In the meantime, we follow a strict and approved protocol. To minimize the risks, it is important that the players make a life almost monastic.”
