Torino President Urbano Cairo has confirmed Walter Mazzarri won’t be sacked following the 7-0 home defeat to Atalanta. “There is no ultimatum.”

The Granata were demolished 7-0 at the Stadio Olimpico di Torino by a rampant La Dea.

President Cairo and Mazzarri reportedly held a meeting until 1.30 on Sunday morning.

However following the discussion, Cairo seemed to give Mazzarri his full support.

“The first thing I do is apologise to the fans, because a match of this kind is bad, indefensible, incomparable,” Cairo told Calciomercato.com

“For everything else there is no news. Everything is confirmed. Tuesday is an important game, we have to prepare for it well and we will see what happens.

“Ultimatum to Mazzarri? No, there is no ultimatum.”

Calciomercato also speculates that should Torino lose in the Coppa Italia quarter final against Milan, Moreno Longo or Davide Ballardini could replace Mazzarri on the Toro bench.
