Although Serie A is shut down until at the very least April 3, and not expected back until May 2, Cagliari nonetheless announced they are resuming training on March 23.

The sessions would be divided into small groups, therefore enabling them to still follow social distancing guidelines.

The Players’ Association and Italian Association of Coaches have both come out strongly against clubs who are urging their players and staff to return to work.

All of Italy is in self-isolation mode due to the coronavirus pandemic, which has so far killed 2,978 people in the country.

Over the last 24 hours there were another 475 deaths, a record surge that even China did not reach during the peak of that crisis.
