“We have been training with a lot of determination this week and it is this that you will see on the pitch on Saturday,” he told journalists at his pre-match Press conference.

“We should have even trained on Monday but we decided not to as we all needed to clear our heads.

“I think we are doing well but we need to improve and do everything we can in order to achieve a positive result. In football it’s points that count.”

Lopez admitted however that his side face a tough task against La Viola, who are chasing a place in next season’s Champions League.

“They have great players individually but they also work very well together as a unit,” highlighted the 39-year-old.

“They have an excellent Coach [Vincenzo Montella] who has only been there a couple of years but who has already shown how capable he is.

“You can see the influence he has had on the team.”
