He underwent tests today at the Villa Stuart clinic in Rome following a 4-0 defeat to Lazio.
Murru was diagnosed with a collateral left knee ligament injury and will go under the knife.
A statement from the club said the 21-year-old’s recovery time will only be known after the operation.
