Cagliari are reportedly close to signing Shakhtar Donetsk right-back and former Croatia captain Darijo Srna on a free transfer.
According to Premium Sport, Cagliari are ‘ready to pull off a major coup’ by tying down Srna to a one-year contract.
The 36-year-old made just 10 appearances for Shakhtar last season due to a drug ban and will not be able to play until August 23.
However, he is widely considered to be the Ukrainian side’s greatest-ever player, with over 500 games, 10 League titles and a UEFA Cup to his name.
