Martin Caceres has underlined how big the next week will be for Italian champions Juventus.

The Old Lady will entertain Fiorentina on Saturday as they look to maintain their lead at the top of the table, before travelling to Scotland for the first leg of their last 16 European Cup tie.

“We’re conscious of the fundamental week that lies ahead,” the Uruguayan international told Mediaset and Sky Sport Italia.

“The Champions League is a fascinating competition, Celtic are a great side and we’re playing away from home.

“But for now we’re purely focused on the Fiorentina game. Regardless of the opposition, we always take to the field to do our best and win.

“Results wise, we didn’t have a brilliant January, but it’s now behind us.”

Caceres has been brought into the first team in recent weeks following the injury sustained by Giorgio Chiellini.

“It’s inevitable that we’ll feel the loss of a player like Chiellini,” the versatile stopper continued.

“But we’re all great players here and we’ll do everything to compensate for his absence. We know that everyone’s contribution is required.”
