The Uruguay defender international has been reported since April as in continued, progressive talks with the Bianconeri on extending his stay at the club beyond the June 2016 expiry of his current deal.
Sky Sport Italia are toady suggesting that those talks are close to being finalised, as they cite Beppa Marotta and Fabio Paratici having held ‘crucial’ talks in the last few hours with Caceres’ agent Daniel Fonseca.
It is believed that between the club and the player’s entourage an agreement has been reached in principle and that it only lacks the formality of signatures.
Speculation has been that Caceres will be handed a two-year extension to see him through to June 2018.
