Gigi Buffon is “not sated yet” and admits he was furious at conceding his first goal in these Euro 2012 qualifiers.

“My next game will be 110 caps and the most important thing is I'm not sated yet,” said the goalkeeper after Italy's 1-1 draw with Serbia.

“We played good football and kept the game in hand, taking the lead and playing with character, so that is why we passed this test, not the result.”

The Azzurri had only conceded one goal so far in Group C, during their opening 2-1 win in Estonia on September 3, which had Salvatore Sirigu between the posts.

“Marko Pantelic was in an active offside position and right in the way of the ball. I was angry because we hadn't conceded in a long while and everyone wanted to keep hold of that record.

“This was the first goal I have conceded in these qualifiers, so I could've really done without that.”

Buffon was asked for his predictions ahead of the Euro 2012 tournament in Poland and Ukraine.

“Spain, Germany, Holland and Italy are the favourites, in that order. Our performances over the past year allow us to be in good stead, although we know that to get important results it's also essential to have a little stroke of luck.”

Marcello Lippi said the 2010 World Cup would not have been such a disaster had Andrea Pirlo and Buffon been available.

“Unfortunately in football there's no way of knowing. However much we wanted to play and love Lippi, our greatest regret is that we couldn't give any contribution or support to the squad.

“It's water under the bridge and we have to go forward now, although we'll always have Lippi in our hearts.”
