The 5-1 Coppa Italia thrashing prompted Brescia President Gino Corioni to give a stark warning. “Beppe Iachini is safe if he starts winning.”

The Rondinelle were hammered 5-1 at Catania this week to crash out of the Fourth Round of the Coppa Italia.

Coupled with a series of poor Serie A results, President Corioni sent out a warning to his tactician.

“Iachini is safe if he starts winning,” the patron told journalists.

The newly-promoted side hasn't won since September and lost seven of the last nine Serie A games.

There are already options to take over should Brescia falter again with Genoa on Sunday.

The favourite is Franco Colomba, who was sacked by Bologna just 24 hours before the start of the season.

As he did not oversee an official game with the club, under the Italian rules he is allowed to work for another side during the same season.

If Colomba had been in charge for the opening match, he would have been barred from joining any other club in 2010-11.

Other alternatives are Walter Novellino, Gigi Cagni and Mario Beretta.
