Tonight’s Scudetto showdown between Napoli and Juventus has officially been called off due to floods in the area.

Italy has been struck by severe thunderstorms and flash floods over the past few days, which killed six people – including two children – in Genoa.

This forced the Lega Serie A to postpone Genoa-Inter, due to have been played at 11.30 UK time at Marassi.

It has also now been confirmed that the Mayor of Naples has called off tonight’s 19.45 UK time kick-off at the Stadio San Paolo.

The city has been hit by heavy rain throughout the day and the stadium underpass has been flooded.

It is also considered too dangerous to allow the 60,000 fans to travel to the San Paolo for the big game in these conditions.

The Mayor has urged all those in Naples to stay indoors.
