Former Inter midfielder Wim Jonk has questioned Ouasim Bouy’s decision to leave Ajax for Italian giants Juventus.

The 18-year-old signed a contract until June 2015 with the Old Lady this week, a move which has been criticised by the former Dutch international.

“I told Ouasim that this would not be a wise move for him,” Jonk, who works for the Ajax youth academy, told Voetbal International.

“We designed a path for him to go down and he was close to making his debut in the Ajax first team. Everything was going according to plan and then Juventus arrived.

“I advised him to stay, to emerge at Ajax, where he would have been given the possibility to play. We would have then sold him abroad.

“If Eljero Elia has been unable to do well for Juventus, then how will Ouasim at his young age?”

Bouy is an attacking midfielder.

Elia, meanwhile, is a Dutch winger who was signed by Juve from Hamburg in the summer. The 24-year-old has made just two League appearances since.
