“The main thing is the game. There was an emergency situation dictated by the Coach’s departure, but I was already at the youth academy and it seemed normal for me to make myself useful,” said Bosi in a Press conference.

The Sicilians are in absolute chaos, as after Beppe Iachini and Davide Ballardini were fired, Bosi and then Giovanni Tedesco were employed as caretaker managers.

This was meant to be until Guillermo Barros Schelotto was given the all-clear, but when a work permit was not granted, the Argentine walked away and Bosi was promoted from the Primavera youth side.

“The only thing that matters is this match, which arrives in an important moment of the campaign. I’d be presumptuous if I said I could bring anything to the squad in two days of training, so I can only promise hunger and enthusiasm.

“You have to give the players credit for being on the right track and it’s not easy after all these changes. We have to do battle against Torino to see a rosier future.

“Toro worry me because they have such quality and a great Coach, as Giampiero Ventura is always able to think of something interesting. They are going through a rough patch and we have to take advantage.

“The squad is in good shape physically and so I mostly have to work on the mentality and bring some confidence back.

“I’d lie if I said I wasn’t excited at the prospect of my real Serie A debut. I am not a dreamer, though, I know that in football you must work hard and deliver results. I am not seeking some ephemeral glory.

“I’d be stupid if I tried to transform the identity of a side that got good results recently. My appointment was somewhat sudden, but this match can change our season for the better.”

Former caretaker manager Tedesco will now be an assistant manager to Bosi.

“I’ve known Giovanni for 20 years. He’s from Palermo and was a player here, but above all he is a Coach. We’ll discuss strategy, though ultimately I will make the final decision.”
