While Alberto Gilardino has been recalled to the set-up after his deadline day switch to Bologna, Borriello – the man who replaced Gila at Marassi – was left out of yesterday’s squad.
“One has been reborn in Genoa and one has done the same away from Genoa,” Preziosi noted this afternoon. “A horse doesn’t become a donkey and vice-versa.
“In my opinion, Borriello is the ideal attacker, one of the best in Italy and not only because he has scored three goals so far.
“He’s good with his head, his left and right foot. Borriello is good enough for the national team, I’m absolutely certain of that.”
