Girondins de Bordeaux midfielder Toma Basic has arrived in Rome this evening, ahead of his Lazio medical tomorrow morning.

The cost of the operation is expected to be circa €7m plus €1m in bonuses.

The performance-related bonuses are tied to Champions League qualification, according to Sky Sport Italia.

He landed at Ciampino Airport in Rome, with a Lazio scarf around his neck, accompanied by agent Adrian Aliaj.

The 24-year-old Croatia international had agreed personal terms with Lazio weeks ago, report Sportitalia, but the club could not sign anyone due to a lack of liquidity.

The issue was resolved when Lazio President Claudio Lotito put €10m into the club coffers last week.

Basic joined Bordeaux from Hajduk Split in 2018 for €3.5m and his contract with the French club is due to expire in June 2022.

He scored nine goals in 82 competitive appearances for Bordeaux.

He has two senior caps for Croatia, after eight for the Under-21 side.
