Massimo Ambrosini thinks that Giacomo Bonaventura is the perfect fit for Coach Pippo Inzaghi because of his unpredictability.

The former Atalanta midfielder has made seven appearances in Serie A for the Rossoneri since his summer move, scoring once.

“Poli is playing well this season, but is different breed of player,” Ambrosini told Sky Italia.

“Bonaventura instead is no [Riccardo] Montolivo or [Andrea] Pirlo in terms of playmaking, but I think that if he plays like an attacking midfielder, he could still give some unpredictability to this side.

“I think that [Pippo] Inzaghi likes Bonaventura very much because he allows the Coach to change the system without actually having to replace someone.

“Pippo managed to persuade every player to row in the same direction – everybody knows what they have to do and they all work well especially when they have to defend. In fact, it wasn’t easy for Fiorentina to score past them.

“Generally speaking, during the game, I think there were too many mistaken passes because there wasn’t a lot of quality on the pitch.”
