Giacomo Bonaventura’s agent says his client is calm over his exclusion from Italy’s provisional World Cup squad.

The Atalanta” data-scaytid=”2″>Atalanta player was named in Cesare Prandelli’s party to undergo physical tests in Coverciano a few weeks ago but has not made this next 30-man shortlist.

“I am not surprised he hasn’t made it,” Giacondo Martorelli told Calcio News 24. “Our national Coach probably already has his plans worked out and he is now taking that forward.

“Being considered by him in the first place is an important thing, but we will see after the World Cup whether Giacomo can make himself a regular and whether Prandelli appreciates him.

“I think Giacomo has reacted calmly. There is nothing that can make him think about anything else at the moment.

“Obviously everyone hopes in their hearts that they can realise their dreams until it becomes impossible, but Giacomo knows he has both time and quality on his side. For him, nothing is closed.

“At this moment he should be free in the knowledge that he has done his best.

“Now we need to leave Prandelli to work in what will be a difficult World Cup. We hope that he, as an Italian, can do well.”
