Bologna are meeting with Rennes today for Arthur Theate, but want over €20m to sell the defender, who is also of interest to Leicester City.

Reports in Belgium over the last few days suggested a deal was imminent, but Sky Sport Italia warn the situation is not so clear-cut yet.

It’s suggested that Stade Rennais directors are meeting with Bologna chiefs today to work out a transfer fee for the 22-year-old defender.

Rennes are offering €18m plus €2m in add-ons, but the demand from Bologna is believed to be a minimum of €20m plus performance-related bonuses.

They have no rush to sell, having already made a huge profit on Aaron Hickey and Mattias Svanberg.

Above all, Bologna have it in their interest to hold on until Leicester City can make their own proposal, which Sportitalia claim will be higher than the one Rennes have put forward.

It has been a tricky summer for Rennes, who also lost out to Napoli for Fenerbahce centre-back Kim Min-jae.
