New Bologna President Joe Tacopina commented on rumours Kobe Bryant and Marco Di Vaio could become investors.

The American lawyer is at the head of a group of investors who bought out the Serie B club this week, including Montreal Impact owner Joey Saputo.

“I received an incredible welcome today,” said Tacopina at a Press conference.

“Our efforts for the rebirth of Bologna will be constant, because we want to bring a glorious club like Bologna back to the top.

“It is an honour for us to look after this club, we believe in the future and have important projects. Our project is long-term and could last for decades.

“We will re-open the season ticket sales, as that can underline the importance of the fans. I want to tell the supporters that your dreams are our dreams.”

Ex-Bologna and Montreal Impact striker Di Vaio was also present and could well have a place in the club’s future.

There are also reports that one of the investors will be basketball star Kobe Bryant, who is a self-confessed fan of Italian football.

“Many things have been said,” replied Tacopina. “If we talk about potential partners then we can name him, but at the moment there is nothing certain.”
