Lewis Ferguson is on the verge of signing for Bologna and he’s expected to undergo his medicals tomorrow as he completes a move from Aberdeen.

The 22-year-old Scottish midfielder attracted the attention of both the Rossoblu and Lecce, but the former eventually won out. Yesterday, Bologna sold Scottish full back Aaron Hickey to Brentford for around €22m, and the development of Ferguson’s compatriot may have convinced him of the move.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Ferguson is set to arrive in Italy tonight before putting pen to paper on a contract tomorrow. He’ll undergo his medicals on Monday before joining up with Sinisa Mihajlovic’s squad.

Bologna will pay Aberdeen around €2.5m plus add-ons, and the player will sign a four-year contract with an option for a fifth worth around €400,000 net per season.

Last season, Ferguson scored 16 goals and provided one assist in 44 appearances across all competitions, impressing in a variety of roles in the midfield.
