Bologna have distanced themselves from reports that they are interested in Simone Perrotta of Roma.

The relegation-threatened Rossoblu have been paired with the 34-year-old this month, but it seems that no switch is on the horizon.

“I honestly don’t know who starts these rumours,” Bologna Vice-President Maurizio Setti told Voce Giallorossa.

“We have never been in touch with anyone with regard to signing Perrotta.

“I honestly don’t know who starts these rumours,” Bologna Vice-President Maurizio Setti told Voce Giallorossa.

“We have never been in touch with anyone with regard to signing Perrotta.

“We rate him as an excellent player, but we are well covered in the role that he plays. I can categorically deny these rumours.”

Perrotta is a 34-year-old midfielder who joined the Stadio Olimpico outfit in 2004 after impressing at Chievo.

A 2006 World Cup winner with Italy, Perrotta has been used as a right-back for the Giallorossi this season.

He’s scored one goal in 15 appearances for the Giallorossi this term.
