Boca Juniors President Daniel Angelici admits Gary Medel “is a player we like a lot” but the Inter man has to lower his wage demands.

The midfielder has been heavily linked with a return to La Bombonera, having spent 18 months with Boca before making the move to Europe.

“Medel? It’s difficult,” Angelici admitted, speaking on Radio Belgrano.

“He is a player we like a lot, we’ve been talking with his agent. Medel has a very high salary, and there’s still a big difference [between the parties].”

Chilean international Medel previously had offers from Trabzonspor and Tigres, but it appears he’s determined to go back to Argentina.

However, he’ll have to lower his wages to get a deal over the line.
