Prince Ali received 73 votes – with three spoiled – meaning a second ballot would take place, where an outright majority would decide the winner.

However, with Blatter needing just 105 votes in that instance, the Jordanian prince elected to withdraw from the race, meaning his opponent is elected as FIFA President for a fifth term.
