FIFA's Sepp Blatter congratulates Juventus on winning Serie A, whilst taking the opportunity to make clear exactly what number Scudetto he believes it to be.

The club are treating the title as their 30th in their history, including the two that were officially stripped from them in the wake of 2006’s Calciopoli trials.

In a letter to club President Andrea Agnelli that has been intercepted by news agency Reuters, FIFA President Blatter has insinuated the position the game's governing body has on the matter sits in contrast.

“It is my great pleasure to offer you my congratulations on your 28th title as champions of Italy,” Blatter wrote this week.

“Last Sunday, after a great performance, the Juventus team won their 28th Scudetto. It is a great achievement which, rightly, has unleashed joy and euphoria. After nine years Juve are once again won the League and are the best in Serie A, well done.

“With this historic achievement I offer my congratulations to the President, the players, Coaches, support staff and management. I wish you all much more success and everything good.”
