The Argentinian striker is out of favour at Paris Saint-Germain, and has been linked with a return to the Partenopei in recent weeks.

However, in an interview with Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli, the club’s sporting director appeared to pour cold water on those rumours.

“I don’t know PSG and Pocho [Lavezzi]’s intentions,” Bigon insisted.

“He definitely has Napoli in his heart. Every time I’ve met him he’s always stressed his affection for the club.

“But I honestly don’t think the French club want to lose him, I don’t think he’s a realistic target.”

Bigon was also coy on the subject of Torino full-back Matteo Darmian, but did concede that a left-back might be needed.

“Making statements about another team’s player is just wrong.

“Buying a left-back could be an option, but we’re talking about a role that’s very difficult to cover in January.

“If we could find the right deal then we’d make a move to cover that area of the field.”
